Ok we know what you are thinking, because we thought the same thing.. a cool, chic Thai place in Times Square that isn't lame or touristy? Yes, there is such a place, Qi! We were taken to Qi by friends who had been there previously, lets get real if someone said "Lets go out in Times Square" your answer would more than likely be "hell to the no!"
First of, very taken back when we walked in, the place is amazingly decorated.. amazing! The vibe, music (trip-hop, loungish, Massive Attack- Carrie's favorite was playing.) We felt at ease and comfortable in the posh clear lucite arm chairs and sleek white leather banquettes.
Where do we start.. drinks! The drink menu was ravishing and we wanted to order one of everything. We settled on a mango mojito- we did good, we ordered a few more after that. We ordered a bevy of appetizers including the coconut shrimp and fried calamari, both were killer and pleased the palate to the fullest. For our entrees we went with the beef pad thai. Lets talk portions, huge! Presentation, beautiful! We were not rushed to eat or finish our convo and drinks, they were cool with us chilling for as long as we wanted.
We love this place and absolutely recommend it! Oh yes, and the price is oh so right with most entrees coming in at around $12.
